May there always be doctors like these the story of Adelia and her father

May 31, 2025

When you fly to another country to save your daughter, the whole world narrows to a single hospital room. To the one door behind which the surgery is taking place right now. To a single prayer: “Let everything go well.”

Juma Beku—the father of a girl named Adelia—knows that feeling all too well.

They flew from Kyrgyzstan to Istanbul for a complex operation on which everything depended: health, relief from pain, and the chance of a full life.

Adelia was born with a congenital heart defect. The surgery should have been performed in infancy, but something went wrong. Attempts were made, yet no result followed. Time passed, and her condition worsened.

By the time they came to us, the situation was critical: the valves were failing, the heart was overloaded, and every day was precious.

We organised the preparation in a matter of hours. Within four hours the medical team carried out a full review, prepared the operating theatre, and brought in a leading cardiac surgeon.

The operation lasted six hours. The surgeons replaced the valves, corrected blood flow, and restored the heart’s anatomy—painstaking work that literally rebuilt a life.

And it succeeded.

“Now my daughter feels lighter,” Juma Beku says. “Her condition is stable, and we hope for a full recovery.”

Every hour the nurses enter the ward to check her vitals. The chief physician personally examines Adelia each day. The family sees that their child is in safe hands.

There is still the journey home to Kyrgyzstan and rehabilitation ahead, but the most important thing has already happened: she has been saved.

“Thank you to the team in Istanbul,” the father says. “Thank you to the hospital, thank you to the doctor. We value you. May there always be doctors like these who help children with this diagnosis. We pray for you.”

At Alisa Health Group we have been beside this family from the first message and will stay until the last test result. Because every patient is not just a case. She is someone’s daughter.

And our task is to do everything possible so that she can smile again.
