Almaty. Turkish Neurosurgeons and Hematologists Delivered Free Consultations for Patients with Severe Diagnoses
On 17 May, Alisa Health Group organised a humanitarian reception in Almaty. Throughout the day, patients could obtain a free second opinion from distinguished specialists:
— Professor Gökhan Akdemir, one of Turkey’s leading neurosurgeons.
— Professor Mustafa Koroğlu, an authority in haematology and bone-marrow transplantation.
Consultations covered brain and spinal-cord tumours, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, leukaemias, lymphomas, anaemias, and hereditary blood disorders.
In a single day the doctors saw more than 90 people.
Some had waited years for such an opportunity.
- One patient was an eight-year-old boy with a suspected brain-stem tumour. His parents had visited dozens of clinics before receiving a clear, calm review of his scans from Professor Akdemir.
- Two teenagers with severe leukaemia were offered transplantation in Türkiye with access to the European donor bank.
“We do not treat— we open the door to treatment. We are proud that we could do this for dozens of families, free of charge,” Alisa representatives said.
